The death of Bollywood superstar Sridevi Kapoor at 54 has left Indians in shock, prompting an outpouring of grief across the nation.

The beloved Indian actress passed away after a cardiac arrest while attending her nephew’s wedding in Dubai late Saturday night, her family has confirmed.

Born in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Sridevi made her acting4 debut5 aged6 four, and went on to become one of the biggest names in the Hindi film industry, with a career spanning over four decades. She starred in a string of blockbusters such as “Nagina” (1986), “Mr India” (1987) and “Chandni” (1989).
